Microdermabrasion (Micro) is a widely performed skin rejuvenation procedure that has proven its effectiveness on all skin types, both men and women and all ethnicities. It is the ultimate advancement in non-invasive, non-surgical skin conditioning.

A stream of diamond micro-crystals in a specially designed tool is projected onto the skin and then vacuumed away to lightly resurface the skin, remove dead and flaking skin and stimulate the production of new skin cells and collagen. It also allows skin care products to penetrate deeper into the skin optimizing benefits and helps provide glowing skin.

Microdermabrasion treatments helps to reduce:

  • Sun damaged skin
  • Age spots and brown spots
  • Fine lines and wrinkles (It can't eliminate deep wrinkles)
  • Clogged pores and dry flaky skin
  • Acne scars and acne marks (It can't eliminate deep Acne Scars or Marks)
  • Acne-prone skin and dull skin
  • Uneven and rough skin texture

Excellent results are can be seen after one treatment and your Leading Esthetician will advise as to whether more than one treatment will give additional benefits.

There are few side effects from a micro. Most people find their skin a bit pink to red after, similar to a very mid sunburn that will fade within a few hours to a couple of days. Dry or flaking skin in the days following a micro isn't unusual. Usually, adding a bit of moisturizer to your daily routine will help. Like all exfoliating treatments, your skin will be more susceptible to sun damage so stay out of the sun! If you suffer from cold sores, a micro may cause a flair-up. Consider applying a cold sore prevention medicine before and after your micro.
